Father's Crime (Babanın Suçu) (translated)

Babanın Suçu ("The Father's Guilt") is a 1976 Turkish film directed and produced by Melih Gülgen. Combining adventure, drama and melodrama, it runs about 75 minutes and carries the Gülgen Film name. Mehmet Aydın wrote the script and Muzaffer Turan was the director of photography.

Kemal (Cüneyt Arkın), who has lived in America for a long time, learns that his son is to be executed for a murder and returns to Turkey at once. He does not believe his son committed it and, like a policeman, follows the trail to find the real culprit. The son, who has not spoken to his father for years, blames him, so the homecoming starts coldly.

Besides Cüneyt Arkın the cast includes Erol Taş, Yıldırım Gencer, Tarık Şimşek, Selma Güneri, Deniz Erkanat, Baki Tamer (Haluk), Reha Yurdakul, Kudret Karadağ and Fadıl Garan. The dubbing was done at Kunt Film, with Toron Karacaoğlu voicing Cüneyt Arkın, Sadettin Erbil voicing Yıldırım Gencer and Rıza Tüzün voicing Erol Taş. Erdoğan Kar was assistant director and Kunt Tulgar recorded the sound.
