King of Trouble (Belanın Kralı) (translated)
Released in cinemas on 1 November 1971, Belanın Kralı (King of Trouble) is a Yeşilçam adventure comedy with a strong streak of action. Yılmaz Atadeniz directed from a screenplay by Melih Gülgen. Shot in colour and running 76 minutes, it builds its story from brawls, clashes, a robbery and banditry. The title character, Bela, is played by İrfan Atasoy, who also produced the picture.
Opposite Atasoy, Ahmet Danyal Topatan plays Beytullah Bey, Hulusi Kentmen is Seyfullah Bey, Feri Cansel is Sevda and Behçet Nacar plays Behçet. Further down the large cast are Sami Hazinses as Ramo, Cevat Kurtuluş as Cafer, Nihat Ziyalan as Orhan and Aynur Akarsu as Behçet's girlfriend; Safiye and Hamiyet Yankı appear under their own names. Zeki Sezer's police chief and a crowd of henchmen round out the familiar world of the period's adventure films.
The film was made under the İrfan Film banner, with Kaya Ererez behind the camera and Osman Bilen editing. As was common in Yeşilçam at the time, the sound was recorded again in the studio after shooting, and voice artists such as Abdurrahman Palay, Kemal Ergüvenç, Agah Hün and Nevin Akkaya dubbed the leading players.
