Ahmet Danyal Topatan — Biography

Born in Tarsus in 1916 and known by his stage name Danyal Topatan, though his birth name was Ahmet Danyal Bayrı, he was a Turkish film actor of Armenian descent who died of lung cancer on September 26, 1975, in Istanbul and was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. He left school after the first year of middle school to pursue Turkish cinema, making his debut in the 1953 production Dracula in Istanbul. Over a long career he took on hundreds of mostly supporting and character parts, occasionally also serving as an art director on set. He is remembered for his part in Topkapi, and he also appeared in productions such as Çete, Tütün Zamanı, Bir Teselli Ver, İpini Boynunda Bil, Belanın Kralı, and Sevimli Haydut.
