Beware of Blondes

Beware of Blondes (French: Méfiez-vous des blondes) is a 1950 French crime film directed by André Hunebelle from a screenplay by Michel Audiard. Raymond Rouleau, Martine Carol and Claude Farell head the cast. The picture forms the middle entry in a trilogy built around the intrepid reporter Georges Masse: it followed Mission in Tangier (1949) and was itself succeeded by Massacre in Lace (1952). In this installment the adventurous journalist is drawn once more into a dangerous investigation, this time entangled with alluring but untrustworthy blondes. Blending crime, romance and adventure, the film was produced at the Francoeur Studios in Paris, with sets created by art director Lucien Carré. Running about 107 minutes, it typifies the brisk popular French cinema of the early 1950s and Hunebelle's knack for lively, fast-moving entertainment.
