Champion Shamsi

Champion Shamsi (Persian: شمسی پهلوون) is a 1966 Iranian film directed by Siamak Yasemi. Yasemi also co-wrote the screenplay together with Ebrahim Zamani Ashtiani. The film stars Füruzan and Katayoun Amirebrahimi, two actresses active in Iranian commercial cinema of the era. Produced in Persian, it belongs to the wave of popular Iranian productions of the 1960s, a period when stories built around the traditional strongman (pahlevan) figure were a familiar part of mainstream filmmaking. The film tells the story of its title character, Shamsi.
