The Extra (Figüran) (translated)

Figüran is a 2014 Turkish comedy film directed by Tolga Çetin, with a screenplay written jointly by Süheyp Tosun and Sefa Demir. The leading roles are played by Ceyhun Fersoy, Serenay Aktaş, and Cem Kılıç.

The story centers on Mutlu, a clumsy yet determined extra working on television sets. He is convinced that the script he has written is one of a kind and that he himself has the talent to carry a leading role. Together with his roommate Cempo, who works as a lighting assistant on set, he dreams of producing their own film.

To draw attention to their project, the two friends set out to cast the star of the series where Mutlu works as an extra. Their awkward but heartfelt efforts unleash a chain of comical mishaps on set.
