Barış Murat Yağcı — Biography

Barış Murat Yağcı was born on January 21, 1991, in the Alaçatı area of İzmir, and is a cousin of actors Birce Akalay and Berke Özer. He graduated in International Relations from Bahçeşehir University and later pursued a second degree in sports management at Anadolu University. As a young man he played professional basketball with Efes Pilsen before an injury ended his sporting career.

After leaving basketball, he moved into modeling and was named "Best Fotomodel" at the Best Model of Turkey pageant, which brought him to the attention of producers and led him into acting. He took his first role as Akın in the 2014 series Kocamın Ailesi and appeared in a small part in the film Figüran the same year. He played Eymen in the 2015 series Kiralık Aşk, Bora in the 2017-2018 Fox TV series Şevkat Yerimdar, and Demir in the 2018 television film Sosyetik Gelin.

He competed on the reality competition Survivor in 2020, finishing runner-up, and returned for Survivor 2022: All Star, Survivor 2025 and Survivor 2026. During the 2026 season, an arrest warrant issued as part of a drug investigation led to his temporary disqualification; after his test results came back negative he rejoined the competition, but an injury later forced him out and he ultimately finished in 12th place.
