Serenay Aktaş — Biography

Serenay Aktaş, a former football forward turned Turkish actress, drew wide attention when the Beşiktaş contract she had just signed was annulled over her joining Survivor, and later became known for playing Ayşe Hatun in Muhteşem Yüzyıl and Inspector Burcu Aktar in Meryem. Her birthplace is Istanbul's Bakırköy district and her birthdate is October 1, 1993; she trained at the Theatre Department of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. Her football career started at fifteen with Zeytinburnuspor before she moved to 1207 Antalyaspor, where she scored 24 goals in 19 official matches; over her career she was capped 54 times and scored 35 goals in total. The Beşiktaş deal she signed in 2015 fell through because she joined Survivor that same year, and she went on to compete in separate seasons of the show in 2014, 2015 and 2025. She began acting with a guest part in Kanıt (2012), then won her first main-cast role as Gülüm in Arka Sıradakiler; after several more guest appearances she took her first film role as Merve in Çılgın Dersane 3 (2014) and her first lead as Pelin Şafak in Figüran. In the years after, she played Pınar in Kaçak Gelinler and Zeynep in Acil Aşk Aranıyor (2015), and appeared in İlişki Durumu: Evli, Yıldızlarda Kayar Das Borak (2016), Savaşçı and Tutunamayanlar (2020).
