Umut Oğuz — Biography

Umut Oğuz was born on July 2, 1977, in Ankara. After graduating from Anadolu University's Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, he was discovered while working as an entertainer at a holiday resort and turned to acting; as a student of Ahmet Gülhan, he gained stage experience in theatre from 1999 onward.

He began his screen career in 2000 with the series Güneş Yanıkları, and went on to appear in numerous television productions such as Üvey Baba, Sırlar Dünyası, Şöhretler Kebapçısı, Büyük Buluşma, Acı Hayat, Kuzey Rüzgarı, Adanalı, Emret Komutanım, Yalancı Romantik, Papatyam, Nuri, Rüzgarlı Sokak, Kertenkele and Boynu Bükükler, while also stepping into cinema with films including Umut Adası, Tramvay, Bana Bir Soygun Yaz, Koğuş Akademisi, Süper İncir, Size Deniz Getireceğim, Delisin Delisin and Figüran.

Having appeared on screen in close to thirty productions, Umut Oğuz has more recently become known for playing Peyami in the series Ben Bu Cihana Sığmazam, while his role as Şinasi in the ATV series Bahtiyar Ölmez remains among his best-known credits.
