Stepfather (Üvey Baba) (translated)

Üvey Baba (Stepfather) is a Turkish drama television series adapted from Kemalettin Tuğcu's novel of the same name. It began as a 1998 television film whose strong ratings and warm reception led producers to continue the story as a series with the same cast, launching on Star TV in 1998.

Its broadcast history included several channel changes. In 2002, when the broadcasting regulator RTÜK handed Star TV a fifteen-day closure penalty, two episodes aired on Teleon before the show returned to its home channel once the sanction ended. Facing cancellation in 2003, the series made a sudden move to Flash TV, where it concluded in 2004 with its 204th episode. Spanning six seasons in total, it ranks among the longer-running Turkish dramas of its era.

The ensemble cast included Işıl Yücesoy, Burçin Abdullah, Hakan Vanlı, Numan Çakır, Umut Oğuz, Yasemin Öztürk, Özlem Çakar Yalçınkaya and Şenol Önsel.
