I Am Sartana, Trade Your Guns for a Coffin

This 1970 Italian-Spanish co-production is a Spaghetti Western and the third entry in the Sartana series, which began in 1968. George Hilton takes over the lead role of the gunslinger Sartana from Gianni Garko, becoming the only actor besides Garko to play the character in the official series. Directed by Giuliano Carnimeo, who often worked under the pseudonym Anthony Ascott, the film was shot in Italy and co-stars German actress Erika Blanc alongside Nello Pazzafini. Its original Italian title translates roughly as an invitation to sell one's pistol and buy a coffin. The picture was released in some markets under alternate titles such as A Fistful of Lead, and in Germany it was marketed under names linking it to the Django films. It belongs to the genre's most prolific period.
