Sartana the Gravedigger

Sartana the Gravedigger is a 1969 Italian Western directed by Giuliano Carnimeo, who worked under the pen name Anthony Ascott for much of his genre output. It stands as the second entry in the long-running Sartana franchise, with Gianni Garko reprising the black-clad title gunslinger who became one of the most recognizable faces of the spaghetti western boom. The screenplay was credited to Ernesto Gastaldi, Tito Carpi and Enzo Dell'Aquila, a trio associated with several other genre pictures of the period.

Sal Borgese and Gordon Mitchell both appear in the supporting cast, alongside performers such as Frank Wolff, Ettore Manni and a young Klaus Kinski in a minor role. The film circulated internationally under several titles, including I Am Sartana, Your Angel of Death for English-speaking markets, while some later home-video reissues used the German release title instead. Its German-language premiere took place on 26 February 1970, roughly a year after the original Italian release, part of the wave of low-budget Italian westerns dominating the country's genre cinema in the late 1960s.
