Of Money and Blood

Of Money and Blood (French: D'argent et de sang) is a French crime thriller miniseries created and directed by Xavier Giannoli, adapted from Fabrice Arfi's 2018 book about the real carbon quota VAT fraud that struck France and Europe in 2008 and 2009. The story follows the unlikely partnership between a crew of small-time crooks from Belleville and a trader from the wealthy districts, who together siphon billions from the newly created carbon market designed to fight climate change, while a relentless investigator pursues them and human passions escalate beyond mere profit. Vincent Lindon, Niels Schneider and Ramzy Bedia head the ensemble. The series premiered out of competition at the Venice Film Festival on 31 August 2023, then aired on Canal+ beginning 16 October 2023 and concluding in February 2024.
