Run, Man, Run! (Corri uomo corri)
Sergio Sollima wrote and directed this 1968 western, an Italian-French co-production released in Italy as Corri uomo corri and in English as Run, Man, Run!. Its alternative title, Big Gundown 2, comes from its place as the second film Sollima built around the same character, two years after his successful western The Big Gundown; it is shot in Italian and runs 120 minutes.
At the centre of the story is Cuchillo, a petty crook played by Tomas Milian, who had also taken the part in the first film. Donald O'Brien shares the lead billing with him. The supporting cast includes John Ireland, Marco Guglielmi, José Torres, Luciano Rossi, Nello Pazzafini, Dante Maggio, Umberto Di Grazia, Attilio Dottesio, Orso Maria Guerrini, Federico Boido, Calisto Calisti and Osiride Pevarello.
Together with Face to Face, the film closes Sollima's political-western trilogy and is the last spaghetti western he made. Sollima described it as the most political, most revolutionary and even most anarchic of his films. The score is credited to Bruno Nicolai, but Sollima said Ennio Morricone was its real composer, and parts of the music were later used in the video game Red Dead Revolver. The film is known as Lauf um dein Leben in Germany, Saludos hombre in France and Corre, Cuchillo, corre in Spain.
