The Magnificent Groom (Şahane Damat) (translated)
Şahane Damat (“The Magnificent Groom”) is a Turkish television series in the romantic comedy and family genres, broadcast on Star TV during the summer of 2016. It was made by the production house Sinegraf Film Yapım, with Osman Sınav as producer and Raşit Çelikezer as director. Episodes ran to nearly two hours, and the first one reached viewers on 21 June 2016.
The leading roles are shared by Burcu Özberk, Ali Ersan Duru and Nükhet Duru. The supporting ensemble is a large one, taking in Selen Uçer, Köksal Engür, Anıl İlter, Leyla Göksun and Hande Kaptan, alongside Erhan Yazıcıoğlu. The series was produced in Türkiye and shot in Turkish.
Its run lasted a single season: after eight episodes the show closed with a finale aired on 23 August 2016. Because of that brief stay on air, Şahane Damat is remembered as one of the productions that wrapped up early in the 2016 summer season.
