Unfinished Happiness (Yarım Kalan Saadet) (translated)

Yarım Kalan Saadet is a 1970 Turkish romantic melodrama directed by Türker İnanoğlu and produced by Erler Film, from a screenplay by Bülent Oran. The film is a remake of the Indian film Saathi, itself adapted from a Tamil original.

Ekrem (Cüneyt Arkın), a famous singer raised by his uncle after losing his father as a child, falls in love with the kind-hearted Fatoş (Filiz Akın) after meeting her at a charity concert for a hospital. Their plan to marry is sabotaged when Ekrem's cousin Jale, who secretly loves him, and his manager pressure him to repay his debt of gratitude to his uncle by marrying Jale instead. Fatoş leaves for İzmir, and when the plane she was supposed to board crashes, Ekrem believes she is dead. Broken, he marries Jale but finds no happiness. After a traffic accident leaves him blind, Fatoş secretly enters his household as a nurse named Gül and urges him to undergo surgery. When the truth finally surfaces and Jale selflessly steps aside, the two lovers are reunited at last.
