Begüm Öner — Biography

Begüm Öner was born on 7 March 1989 in West Germany, where her parents were living for work. The family returned to Türkiye in 1992, when she was two and a half, and she grew up in Istanbul. At ten she signed with a talent agency, and at eleven she made her first appearance in front of the camera in a chocolate commercial. Alongside courses in television and screen acting she continued her studies, graduating from the Statistics Department of Istanbul Commerce University.

Her screen career began in childhood with the role of Özge in the series Dayı, followed by Petek in Bez Bebek, Eda in Melekler Korusun and Seda Atlı in Arka Sıradakiler. The character she is best known for is Elvan, daughter of the pastry-shop owner Sami Bey, in the TRT 1 period comedy Seksenler, which aired on and off between 2012 and 2022. Later she played Dr. Sevim in Derin Mor and Çiğdem in Gassal.

On the big screen she appeared in Recep İvedik 2, as Gülşah in Mandıra Filozofu, as Merve in Kocan Kadar Konuş and its sequel Kocan Kadar Konuş: Diriliş, as Biricik in Öğrenci İşleri and as Alara in Bir Baba Hindu; Badem Şekeri 3, Koca Bulma Sanatı and Üç Günlük Dünya are also among her films. On stage she performed in Her Aşk Biraz Komiktir and Suit. In 2015 she married her Seksenler co-star Ceyhun Fersoy; their daughter Karya was born in February 2026.
