Jasna Beri — Biography

Jasna Beri, born Jasna Ornela Bery, is one of the familiar names of Bosnian cinema. She has appeared in more than forty films since 1975, with Sarajevo at the centre of her career, and she lives and works there. Besides cinema she has worked in theatre and television. She is best known for playing Sabina in Grbavica (released in Turkey as Esma'nın Sırrı).

From the mid-2000s she appeared often in films made in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Dobro ustimani mrtvaci (2005), Grbavica (2006), where she played Sabina, and then Snow, where she played Nadija. Cirkus Columbia and On the Path followed in 2010 and In the Land of Blood and Honey the next year. In On the Path she played a doctor, and in the 2012 film Children of Sarajevo she played Saliha. She shared the cast with Emir Hadžihafizbegović in Snow and Grbavica, and with Ermin Bravo in In the Land of Blood and Honey, On the Path and Cirkus Columbia.
