Kerem Bürsin — Biography

Born in Istanbul, Kerem Bürsin spent his childhood moving between countries because of his father's job, attended high school in Texas, and took acting classes while studying marketing communications at Emerson College in Boston, beginning his career with small roles in Hollywood productions.

After returning to Türkiye, he rose to fame in 2013 with Güneşi Beklerken and consolidated that recognition as Yiğit in Şeref Meselesi (2014). His performance as Ali Smith in Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek (2017) won him Best Actor at the Seoul International Drama Awards, and his role as Serkan Bolat in Sen Çal Kapımı (2020) — sold to more than 90 countries — brought him worldwide recognition.

On the big screen he appeared in Can Feda (2018) and Mavi Mağara (2024); in 2025 he featured in both the series Çarpıntı and Gupse Özay's Netflix production Platonik: Mavi Dolunay Otel. He has served as the first Turkish spokesperson for the women's-rights campaign HeForShe.
