Muhammet Uzuner — Biography

Muhammet Uzuner is an actor and director with deep roots in the theatre. Wider audiences came to know him as Doctor Cemal in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Bir Zamanlar Anadolu'da, while television viewers remember him as Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi in Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem. He continues to work on stage and screen and to teach.

His career began on the stage. He graduated from the theatre department of Ankara University's Faculty of Language and History-Geography in 1992, founded the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Theatre Workshop the following year, and worked there as actor, director and instructor until the end of 2004; he also acted and directed at the Antalya Municipal Theatre and the Antalya State Theatre. After moving to Istanbul he performed at Tiyatro Pera from 2006 and taught at the Sadri Alışık Cultural Centre from 2012. With Arzu Gamze Kılınç he founded the Cihangir Atölye Sahnesi.

On screen he has appeared since the mid-1990s. Among his series are Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman ki, Saklı Kalan, Halef and Siyah Beyaz Aşk (as Namık Emirhan). His films include Küf, Kocan Kadar Konuş and its sequel Kocan Kadar Konuş: Diriliş, Light Years, Beginner and Confidente (2025), in which he plays the prosecutor.
