Niloofar — Biography
Niloofar, born Shahin Khalili, was a singer and actress in Iranian cinema before the 1979 Revolution. Born in Tehran, her film career ran from 1967 to 1974; she acted in twenty films within seven years, above all in 1968 and 1969, when she worked in several films back to back.
Her first stretch falls between 1967 and 1969. Starting with Noah's Storm, she took parts in 1968 releases such as The Tiger from Mazandaran (as Laleh), The White Hell, Hengameh, Man ham gerye kardam and Mard-e-rouz, and then in Melikşah, Yalda Night Story, Shokooh-e ghahraman, Kismet and The Roar of the Storm, in which she played Marjan, keeping up the same pace.
She kept up the pace after 1970. Ferhat ile Şirin and Hak Yolu belong to 1970, while Fleeing the Trap (as Mehri), The World Is Mine and Reza Chelcheleh date from 1971. In 1972 she played Negar in Motreb and Shila in City of Sunlight. Sakhreye Siah (1973) followed, and the last production in her filmography is Kowsar (1974), where she played Azar. Her work in cinema thus ended five years before the Revolution.
