Fleeing the Trap
Fleeing the Trap (Persian: فرار از تله, Farar az Taleh; also released as The Getaway or Escape From the Trap) is a 1971 Iranian action-romance feature. Jalal Moghadam, a filmmaker linked to the Iranian New Wave, both directed the picture and wrote its screenplay. The leading roles are played by Behrouz Vossoughi and Niloofar (Shahin Khalili), while Davoud Rashidi and Jalal Pishvaian appear in supporting parts.
The Persian-language production runs roughly 102 minutes and belongs to the commercial mainstream of Iranian cinema in its period. It was filmed on location in Dezful, a city in Khuzestan province: sequences were captured around the town's old bridge, in the historic Qal'eh and Kharatun neighborhoods and the Sahra-ye Badr-e Maghrebi area, and at the Andimeshk railway station. A number of interior scenes were staged inside the private home of a local dignitary who at the time was a notable of the old bridge district.
