Ogün Kaptanoğlu — Biography

Ogün Kaptanoğlu was born on 29 December 1977 in İzmir, where he completed his schooling and played basketball for the Karşıyaka and Tuborg clubs. After six years of modeling he trained as an actor, and in 2006, on screenwriter Osman Dikiciler's recommendation, landed his first lead role alongside Hazım Körmükçü in director Aytan Gönülşen's film Kardan Adamlar.

Besides the Hababam Sınıfı series and films such as Cehennem and Konak, he built a long television résumé: after his 2004 debut in Büyük Buluşma, he played prison guard Cengiz in Parmaklıklar Ardında, Captain Oğuz Kılıçoğlu across four seasons of Karagül, the character Titan in Diriliş Ertuğrul, Captain Hamilton in Mehmetçik Kut'ül Amare, Karadiç in Türkler Geliyor: Adaletin Kılıcı, and Melik Turanşah in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu, along with roles in Kardeşlerim and İyilik.

In February 2023 he volunteered for search-and-rescue work in Hatay following the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquake and described helping pull a person from the rubble. He was hurt in a fall down a staircase while wrapping up the series Çarpıntı in December 2025. In 2026 he became part of the Arka Sokaklar ensemble, sharing the screen with Alara Bozbey.
