Serdar Gökhan — Biography

Serdar Gökhan was born Nusret Ersöz on 15 March 1943 in Bolu, Turkey. Before turning to acting, he trained in fine arts and spent years working as a comic-strip illustrator, a background that shaped the disciplined, physically confident screen presence he later became known for.

Gökhan entered cinema with minor roles in 1964 and quickly rose to become one of Yeşilçam's sought-after leading men, taking on lead and character roles in films such as Irmak, Malkoçoğlu Kurt Bey, Yatık Emine, Kader Yolcuları, Acı Severim Tatlı Döverim and Kan Kardeşler. His athletic build and commanding presence made him a natural fit for the era's action and adventure productions.

In later decades he shifted much of his focus to television, appearing in Kurt Seyit ve Şura before reaching a new generation of viewers as Süleyman Şah in Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Spanning more than six decades, his career bridges classic Turkish cinema and contemporary television drama.
