Mehmetçik Kut'ül-Amare (Mehmetçek Kut'ül Amare)

Mehmetçik Kut'ül Amare is a Turkish historical war series produced by Bozdağ Film, which premiered on TRT 1 on January 18, 2018. Written and produced by Mehmet Bozdağ and directed by Mustafa Şevki Doğan and Kamil Aydın, it continued in its second season under the title Mehmetçik Kutlu Zafer and concluded after two seasons with its 33rd episode on January 31, 2019.

The series depicts the Siege of Kut al-Amara, fought during World War I between Ottoman forces and the British army in the town of Kut, southeast of Baghdad on the Iraqi front. The story unfolds through Mehmet, a character symbolizing the ordinary Ottoman soldier, who risks his life for his country, while the love of the Arab woman Zeynep for him forms another thread of the narrative. The leading roles are played by Kaan Taşaner, İsmail Hacıoğlu, İsmail Ege Şaşmaz, Cansu Tosun, Özgü Kaya, İlker Aksum and Serdar Gökhan.
