Oya Unustası — Biography

Oya Unustası, in full Oya Unustası Taşanlar, is a Turkish actress and model born in Istanbul on March 31, 1988. In a career that began in television at the end of the 2000s, she has played both supporting and lead characters, working across television series, film, and modeling.

Unustası entered the arts through music training, graduating from the Flute Department of the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory. Alongside acting she has also worked as a model, and in 2013 she made the top 20 in the Miss Turkey beauty pageant, bringing her name to a wider audience — a period that also proved decisive in accelerating her screen career.

Her earliest work on record is the 2008 series Akasya Durağı. She had her first experience in film in Tolga Örnek's 2010 film Kaybedenler Kulübü, appearing in a large cast that included Nejat İşler, Yiğit Özşener, Rıza Kocaoğlu, and Serra Yılmaz. In 2011 she played the character Duru in the series İzmir Çetesi, starring Kadir İnanır and Mustafa Üstündağ; in 2013 she joined the cast of Sevdaluk, alongside Erdal Özyağcılar, Cengiz Bozkurt, and Devin Özgür Çınar.

2014 was a year in which the actress appeared in two series at once: Beyaz Karanfil and Diriliş Ertuğrul, directed by Metin Günay. In Diriliş Ertuğrul, broadcast on TRT, she played the character Sugay Hatun. A year later, her role as Zeliş Gıpgıp in the series Kalbim Ege'de Kaldı (2015), in which she took the lead for the first time, brought her to the center of a production for the first time and is remembered as one of the turning points of her career.

In 2018 Unustası played alongside Emir Özyakışır and Tekin Temel in the series Masum Değiliz, and the following year she delivered her best-known work with Hercai, broadcast on ATV. In the series, which starred Akın Akınözü and Ebru Şahin and also featured Ayda Aksel, Feride Çetin, and Gülçin Santırcıoğlu, she played the character Gönül Aslanbey. This role is among the actress's most-remembered work today.

Maintaining her presence on screen in recent years, the actress plays the character Sibel in the 2026 series Masumiyet Müzesi, whose cast also includes Tilbe Saran. She has also made headlines in the Turkish press for her performance in the series Güller ve Günahlar and for interviews in which she has spoken in favor of a natural approach.
