Sezin Akbaşoğulları — Biography

Born on April 22, 1981, in İzmir, Sezin Akbaşoğulları began acting in a high school production of Yine Başladılar Şarkılarına and graduated from Bilkent University's Theatre Department. She appeared on screen in 2000 as Doğa in Bizim Evin Halleri, took roles in the 2004 films Gülizar and Bir Aşk Hikayesi, then gained wider recognition in 2005 as Ceren Aslanbaş in Beyaz Gelincik and as teacher Zeynep in the series Eylül. For her performance as Arzu in Selim Demirdelen's film Kavşak, she shared the Best Actress prize of the 17th Altın Koza Film Festival with Nergis Öztürk that year.

She went on to play a range of characters in Sır Gibi, Derdest, Ah Kalbim and Küstüm Çiçeği, took the role of Ceyda Sevi in Sen De Gitme in 2011, and in 2012 played Özgür in the film Yabancı and Eylül Fidan in the series Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi. After co-starring with Erdal Beşikçioğlu in Fakat Müzeyyen Bu Derin Bir Tutku (2014), she appeared in Racon, Hatırla Gönül, and as Cahide Korludağ in Cesur ve Güzel. Following roles in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu, O Kız, Tetikçinin Oğlu and Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi, she appeared in the Disney+ production Aşkı Hatırla (2025); in 2026 she joined Kıskanmak as Defne while also signing on for Alıkara, Babamın Günahları and Ağlama Anne.
