Tarık Ünlüoğlu — Biography

Tarık Ünlüoğlu (16 November 1957, İzmir – 1 October 2019, Istanbul) was a Turkish theatre, film and television actor. After studying opera for a year at the Ankara State Conservatory, he switched to the theatre department; he worked at the Ankara State Theatre for more than twenty years, then moved to the Istanbul State Theatre, where he also served as a director.

He made his television debut in 2001 and became widely known for his character Testere Necmi in the series Kurtlar Vadisi (2003). Following Gümüş (2005), Benim Annem Bir Melek (2008) and Avrupa Avrupa (2011), he portrayed Ünal in the series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz (2015). On the big screen he appeared in the Eyvah Eyvah film series as well as Berlin Kaplanı, Sümela'nın Şifresi: Temel (2011), Kara Bela (2015), Bana Masal Anlatma (2015) and Bal Kaymak (2018). Ünlüoğlu, who was married to actress Gülenay Kalkan, passed away in 2019 and continues to be commemorated by colleagues and fans on the anniversaries of his death.
