Akvaryumda Sessiz Sakin (Akvaryumda Sessiz, Sakin)

Akvaryumda Sessiz, Sakin is a Turkish documentary film completed in 2016, directed and produced by Tayfun Belet. Shot in Turkish, it is known internationally under the title "Peace and Quiet in the Aquarium".

The documentary follows the lives of women in the Datça and Bozburun region who married into fishing families. Some of them had never seen the sea before marriage, and the film portrays their hopes, dreams and fears as they adapt to a daily rhythm shaped by the sea. In 2016 the film was a finalist at the BUZZ CEE - Buzau International Film Festival and the SABC Ekurhuleni International Film Festival, and was screened in the official selections of the International Balkan Film and Food Festival, the International Baikal Film Festival and the One Country One Film Festival.
