Ali Baba and the Seven Dwarfs (Ali Baba ve Yedi Cüceler)

Ali Baba and the Seven Dwarfs is a 2015 Turkish comedy-action film written, directed and produced by Cem Yılmaz, who also stars in multiple roles. Ali Şenay and his brother-in-law İlber, partners in the Şenay Cüccaciye company that designs and sells garden gnomes, travel to a horticultural fair in Sofia after failing in the domestic market. Through a misunderstanding they cross paths with the men of mafia boss Boris Mancov and find themselves at the center of a manhunt, encountering colorful figures such as Veronika, Kenan Memedov and Tayanç Pakça along the way.

Partly shot in Bulgaria, the film co-stars Zafer Algöz, Çetin Altay, Irina Ivkina, Yosi Mizrahi and Bahtiyar Engin, and includes references to the works of Barış Manço. Postponed because of the election period and terror incidents, it opened on 13 November 2015 in 352 theaters, drawing 540,000 viewers in its first three days and surpassing the opening figure of Yılmaz's previous film Pek Yakında.
