Animal
L'Animal is a 1977 French action comedy directed by Claude Zidi, starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Raquel Welch. Belmondo, famous for performing his own stunts, lives up to that reputation here while appearing in a double role. The story follows two professional stunt performers who are engaged to be married; when a car stunt on their wedding day leaves them injured, they end both their relationship and their working partnership.
After a stretch of unemployment, the man is offered a high-paying job and sets out to convince his former fiancée to rejoin him, only to discover she is now engaged to a nobleman — prompting a desperate attempt to win back her affection before her wedding. Written by Michel Audiard, Dominique Fabre and Zidi, and produced by Cerito Films, the film was released in the United States by Analysis Film Releasing Corp under the title Stuntwoman.
