Cahide

Cahide is a Turkish television drama broadcast on TRT 1 in 1989. It was directed by Ziya Öztan and written by Zeynep Avcı, and ran for only five episodes, making it one of the short-form series characteristic of TRT productions of the era.

The series takes its name from Cahide Sonku, regarded as the first female star of Turkish cinema and also its first woman director and producer. Her life provides the starting point for the production.

Rutkay Aziz, Hale Soygazi and Uğur Polat share the leading roles. The series closed with its fifth episode and has since reached viewers again through TRT's archive broadcasts.
