Cent briques et des tuiles

Cent briques et des tuiles is a 1965 black-and-white crime comedy made as a French-Italian co-production. Pierre Grimblat directed the picture and co-wrote the script with Clarence Weff. Falling within the heist-film tradition, it treats a robbery scheme with a playful, comic tone rather than straight suspense. The leading cast features Jean-Claude Brialy, Michel Serrault, Marie Laforêt and Madeleine Barbulée, while Albert Rémy, Philippe Brizard and Dominique Zardi appear in supporting parts. Running about 86 minutes, the film had its world premiere in France on 9 April 1965. It later opened in West Germany in December 1967 under the title 100 Millionen im Eimer and reached East German screens in May 1971 as Der große Coup. The production is notable for gathering a wide circle of well-known French screen actors of its period in one ensemble.
