Albert Rémy — Biography
Albert Rémy, born on 9 April 1911 in Sèvres, was a French film actor who died on 26 January 1967 in Paris. Across his career he mostly played supporting characters, and two performances from François Truffaut's early features remain his best-known credits: the stepfather of Antoine Doinel in The 400 Blows, and the older brother of Charlie Koller in Shoot the Piano Player. Other films on his résumé include the classic Les Enfants du Paradis, directed by Marcel Carné, and The Train, made by John Frankenheimer, alongside a wartime picture directed by René Clément. His filmography also includes earlier French productions such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Devil in the Flesh. French sources note that he occasionally worked as a director as well.
