Death of the Giants (Devlerin Ölümü) (translated)
Death of the Giants is a 1990 Turkish film directed and produced by İrfan Tözüm. Written by Bilgesu Erenus, the screenplay was adapted for the screen from three short stories by Sabahattin Ali: Hanende Melek, Yeni Dünya and Çilli.
Drawing on these stories, the film interweaves the life stories of three women. Its lead actress Hümeyra also performed the songs sung by her character Hanende, as well as the film's original score composed by Oğuz Abadan. The cast includes Tarık Akan, and the cinematography was handled by Ertunç Şenkay.
