Movie · 2012 · 2 people

Final Cut: Ladies and Gentlemen is a 2012 Hungarian experimental romantic film directed by György Pálfi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Zsófia Ruttkay. Running 84 minutes, the work is conceived as a montage film assembled from 451 clips drawn from the most famous films in cinema history.

Through these borrowed images, the film tells a love story whose protagonists change from scene to scene, turning stars such as Marcello Mastroianni, Jeanne Moreau, Brigitte Bardot and Marlon Brando into fragments of a single narrative. Produced with the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest, the film was selected as the closing presentation of the Cannes Classics section at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
