Magnet of Doom
Magnet of Doom (original French title: L'Aîné des Ferchaux, "The Elder Ferchaux") is a 1963 French-Italian drama film written and directed by Jean-Pierre Melville. Adapted from Georges Simenon's novel of the same name, it is regarded as a French noir picture. The story follows Michel Maudet, a former paratrooper who became an amateur boxer and is hired as the bodyguard of Ferchaux, a corrupt banker on the run.
The cast is led by Jean-Paul Belmondo, Charles Vanel, Michèle Mercier and Stefania Sandrelli. Running 101 minutes, the film premiered in France in 1963 and was also released in some markets under the title An Honorable Young Man.
