Troubleshooters

This 1971 French-Italian crime comedy, directed by Georges Lautner, follows Serge Aubin as he walks out of prison after serving three years for a jewel theft, never having revealed to the police where he hid the loot. Convinced that his wife Carla betrayed him, he kidnaps her with the help of his friend Michel, while Commissioner Caillaud stays on their trail hoping to learn the treasure's hiding place. They are not the only ones interested: a string of gangsters also covet the hidden jewels, and the bodies pile up as Aubin struggles to recover his own haul. Jean Yanne and Mireille Darc star, with a screenplay by Bertrand Blier. The film was released in France under the title Laisse aller... c'est une valse!
