Ulaş Tuna Astepe — Biography

Ulaş Tuna Astepe was born on 5 May 1988 in İzmit, finished his primary and secondary schooling there, boarded at Istanbul Erkek Lisesi, and then completed a theatre degree at the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory. He entered the industry in 2008 as a costume assistant on Osmanlı Cumhuriyeti, and, after roles in the stage plays Bayrak and Babamın Cesetleri (both written and directed by Berkun Oya) and Cam Yapraklar (staged by Sami Berat Marçalı), had his real breakthrough in 2012 playing Orhan in the series Karadayı. In the years he appeared in Analar ve Anneler, Masum and Rüya, he also took the lead as Selim in Emre Yeksan's 2017 film Körfez. His role as Tahir Kaleli in Sen Anlat Karadeniz, from 2018, brought him wide recognition, and he went on to play Hızır Reis in Barbaroslar: Akdeniz'in Kılıcı and Dr. Barış Güvener in Hayat Bugün. In 2024 he co-led the BluTV series İlk ve Son alongside Bergüzar Korel; in 2025, after a part in Çift Kişilik Oda, he returned to screens as Adil Koçari in TRT 1's Taşacak Bu Deniz.
