Burak Özçivit — Biography

Burak Özçivit, born on December 24, 1984 in Istanbul, is a Turkish actor and former model. He studied photography at Marmara University. In 2005 he was chosen Best Model of Turkey and came second in the Best Model of the World contest the same year.

He began acting in 2006 with Eksi 18 and became known for his role as Çetin in Küçük Sırlar (2010). He played Malkoçoğlu in Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2011) and Kamran in Çalıkuşu (2013). His role as Kemal in Kara Sevda (2015) turned him into a global star; sold to more than 110 countries, the series became the first Turkish production to win an International Emmy in 2017. On the big screen he starred in Aşk Sana Benzer (2015), the Kardeşim Benim films (2016-2017) and Can Feda (2018). From 2019 to 2025 he portrayed Osman Bey in Kuruluş Osman; in 2026 he returned to the sets as the lead of the series Güneşin Doğduğu Yer. He is married to actress Fahriye Evcen.
