Burak Özçivit — Biography

Burak Özçivit was born on 24 December 1984 in Istanbul into a family from Gaziantep, the son of Bülent and Ceyhan Özçivit and brother of Burçun Özçivit. While a student in Marmara University's Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Photography, he was named Best Model of Turkey in 2005 and finished runner-up at Best Model of the World that same year.

He turned to acting in 2006 with Eksi 18, gained recognition playing Çetin in Küçük Sırlar, then took the roles of Malkoçoğlu in Muhteşem Yüzyıl and Kamran opposite his future wife Fahriye Evcen in Çalıkuşu, a pairing revived later in a feature film. His part as Kemal in Kara Sevda made him internationally famous, and the series became the first Turkish production to win an International Emmy in 2017; in film he starred in Aşk Sana Benzer, the Kardeşim Benim films and Can Feda.

Playing Osman Bey in Kuruluş Osman from 2019 to 2025 won him a wide following across many countries, and in 2026 he returned to television with the series Güneşin Doğduğu Yer. He married Evcen in 2017, and the couple's two sons are named Karan (born 2019) and Kerem (born 2023). When criticism arose in August 2026 over his absence from his sister Burçun's wedding, he answered with the words "leave our family alone."
