Hayati Hamzaoğlu — Biography

Hayati Hamzaoğlu (April 3, 1933, Trabzon – April 16, 2000, Antalya) was one of Turkish cinema's best-known character actors of the Yeşilçam era. Typically cast in tough or villainous roles, he appeared in more than 250 films and television productions over a career spanning more than four decades.

He became widely recognized for roles in historical and folk-epic adaptations such as Köroğlu, Malkoçoğlu Kurt Bey and Kerem İle Aslı, as well as action films like Karateci Kız (Karate Girl) and Dağların Kartalı. He continued working through the 1980s in productions such as Takip and Akrep Yuvası. In recognition of his contribution to Turkish cinema, he received the Golden Orange Film Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award.

His son later followed in his footsteps and became a recognized actor in Turkish television as well.
