Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu — Biography

Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu was born on 29 October 1989 in Berlin to a Turkish father and a German mother; after starting primary school in Turkey, she took piano and violin lessons at a part-time conservatory and began modelling while studying German language and literature at İstanbul University. In 2005 she was named "Best Promising" at Best Model of Turkey, in 2006 she won the "Princess" title at the Miss Tourism Queen International pageant in China, and in 2008, as Miss Turkey, she represented her country at the Miss World pageant in Johannesburg that December.

She began acting as İrem in Es-Es, then played Songül, the on-screen sister of Kenan İmirzalıoğlu's character, in Karadayı, and İz in Kiralık Aşk; she gained wider recognition in cinema opposite Çağatay Ulusoy in Delibal (2015). She went on to play Pelin in Tatlı İntikam, Derin opposite Kerem Bürsin in Bu Şehir Arkandan Gelecek, and Candan in Kızım (2018-2019), and also appeared in the series Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu alongside Buğra Gülsoy and Ekin Koç.

She married Ceyhun Ergün in Germany in July 2022, welcomed her son Evren in January 2023, and stepped back from public life for a time before turning to music in 2026, a phase she has called the most productive of her career.
