My daughter (Kızım) (translated)

Kızım (My Daughter) is a Turkish drama and family television series produced by Medyapım, which premiered on TV8 on September 19, 2018. Adapted from the Korean drama Oh My Geum Bi, it ran for a single season of 34 episodes, ending on May 31, 2019, with filming taking place in Istanbul.

The story follows eight-year-old Öykü, an unusually perceptive and empathetic girl. When the aunt who has raised her since birth abandons her, Öykü must track down her father, Demir — an irresponsible con man who grew up in an orphanage and is arrested on the very day his daughter appears. The court releases Demir on the condition that he take custody of Öykü. At first Demir and his accomplice Uğur try to get rid of the little girl, but a deep bond gradually forms between them. Öykü, meanwhile, carries a secret she cannot share with anyone: she has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease.

The leads are Buğra Gülsoy, Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu and Beren Gökyıldız, supported by Serhat Teoman, Sinem Ünsal, Tugay Mercan and Deniz Ali Cankorur.
