Anne is a Turkish drama series that aired on Star TV from October 25, 2016 to June 20, 2017, running for 33 episodes. Produced jointly by MedYapım and MF Yapım, it is a Turkish adaptation of the 2010 Japanese series Mother, written by Yuji Sakamoto, and stars Cansu Dere, Vahide Perçin, and child actress Beren Gökyıldız. The story begins when Zeynep, a photographer who fills in as a substitute teacher for a day, notices the strange behavior of one of her pupils. Digging deeper, she discovers that little Melek is being abused by her mother and stepfather, so she kidnaps the girl to save her life, giving her a new name and a new home. Young Gökyıldız's performance drew wide acclaim, and the series was later broadcast in numerous countries.
