Vahide Perçin — Biography

Born 13 June 1965 in İzmir's Karşıyaka district to Greek-immigrant parents, Vahide Perçin studied economics, switched to acting, and graduated first in class from Dokuz Eylül University's theatre program.

Invited by Rutkay Aziz, she joined Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu. She married actor Altan Gördüm in 1991, becoming known as Vahide Gördüm; daughter Alize was born in 1994. She settled in Istanbul and co-founded the school 35 Buçuk Akademi in 2009.

She entered television in 2003 as Suzan Kozan in Bir İstanbul Masalı, played Fulya in Hırsız Polis, and won Best Actress at the 2007 Altın Koza Film Festival for İlk Aşk. Playing Zehra in Adını Feriha Koydum, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011; once recovered, Ayhan Hanım brought a second Best Actress prize in 2014. She divorced in 2013 and resumed the surname Perçin.

She took over the role of Hürrem Sultan on Muhteşem Yüzyıl in 2013, played Cennet in Göç Zamanı and Şemsa in Kapı, and as Hünkar Yaman in Bir Zamanlar Çukurova became the first Turkish actor to win Best Foreign Actress at the 2020 Produ Awards. She led actors' union Oyuncular Sendikası, 2021-2024, played judge Güzide in Aldatmak, and appeared in Şakir Paşa Ailesi: Mucizeler ve Skandallar.
