Cansu Dere — Biography

Cansu Dere is a Turkish actress, presenter and former model, born on 14 October 1980 in Ankara. Coming from a family of immigrants from Thessaloniki and Bulgaria, Dere studied archaeology at Istanbul University; after being crowned Miss Turkey in 2000, she turned to modelling and became one of the most sought-after faces on the runway.

She made her acting debut in 2004 with the series Metro Palas; her star rose with Sıla (2006), and she played Defne in the film Son Osmanlı Yandım Ali (2007). The character Eyşan in Ezel (2009-2011) became one of the signature roles of her career. She remained on screen with productions such as Behzat Ç. Seni Kalbime Gömdüm (2011), Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2012, Firuze), Anne (2016, Zeynep), Şahsiyet (2018) and Sadakatsiz (2020, Asya). In 2026 she returned to the big screen with Portekiz Aşkı, filmed in Portugal as the first co-production feature between the two countries.
