Merve Boluğur — Biography

Merve Boluğur is a Turkish actress and model born on 16 September 1987 in Istanbul. She studied at the Theatre Department of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center; early in her career she appeared in several films and commercials.

She made her film debut with Keloğlan Kara Prens'e Karşı (2005) and became known in 2006 as Ayşegül in the series Acemi Cadı, in which she played the lead role. She went on to appear in the film Gomeda (2007) and the series Çemberin Dışında and Aşk Yeniden (2007). She continued her career with Kül ve Ateş (2009), Küçük Sırlar (2010) and Kuzey Güney (2011), playing Ayşegül Yalçın in Küçük Sırlar.

In 2013 she landed one of her best-known roles, portraying Nurbanu Sultan in the fourth season of Muhteşem Yüzyıl. In 2014 she became Maybelline New York's first Turkish brand face. She last appeared on television in 2017 as Ezgi in the series İçimdeki Fırtına. After a long break from the screen, her statements covered by the press in 2026 brought a possible comeback back onto the agenda.
