Murat Garipağaoğlu — Biography
Murat Garipağaoğlu is a Turkish theatre, film and television actor born in Ankara in 1969. After graduating from Bornova Anatolian High School in 1987, he completed the Theatre Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography in 1993 and joined the Istanbul City Theatres. Taking leading roles on stage in plays such as Macbeth, Woyzeck, Marat/Sade and Zengin Mutfağı, he won the Most Successful Comedy/Musical Actor award at the 2013 Afife Theatre Awards and the Best Actor award at the Direklerarası Audience Awards for his performance in Zengin Mutfağı.
His screen career includes productions such as Çamur (2002), Sahra (2004), Dicle (2007), Suskunlar (2012) and Cinayet (2014), but he became widely known as Sadettin Köpek in the TRT 1 series Diriliş Ertuğrul (2014) and also appeared in Uyanış: Büyük Selçuklu (2020). In 2025 he played the character Semih in Star TV's series Kral Kaybederse.
