Özge Özpirinçci — Biography

Born on 1 April 1986 in Istanbul to a family originally from Diyarbakır, Özge Özpirinçci spent a year in the United States on the AFS exchange program during high school and is the daughter of an English teacher; after graduating from Sabancı University's Department of Management Sciences in 2008, she trained as an actress at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York.

She appeared on screen in 2007-2008 in 'Cesaretin Var mı Aşka' and 'Kavak Yelleri', then became known playing İpek Taşkır in her first leading role in 'Melekler Korusun' in 2009. Her role as Fikriye Hanım in Zülfü Livaneli's film 'Veda' earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 2011 Yeşilçam Awards, she took the lead as Asiye in 'Al Yazmalım', and her performance in the short film 'Kayıp' won her Best Actress at international festivals.

She won Best Actress in a Comedy at the Golden Butterfly Awards for playing Zeynep in 'Aşk Yeniden' in 2015 and Best Actress for playing Bahar Çeşmeli in 'Kadın', then went on to play Defne in 'Yakamoz S-245' and Karsu in 'Sandık Kokusu' before taking the lead in 2025's 'Sakıncalı', which premiered in Venice. She was briefly engaged to actor Engin Altan Düzyatan in 2013, and married actor Burak Yamantürk, her partner since 2014, in 2021; the couple have a daughter, Mercan.
