Özgün Aydın — Biography

Özgün Aydın (born 6 September 1984 in Ankara) trained at Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History and Geography after attending Ayrancı High School, passing the entrance exam for its theatre department. As a student he took small parts in a few series to gain set experience and had an extra role in the TRT production Abdülhamit Düşerken. Between 2006 and 2009 he performed with the Ankara theatre groups Öteki Tiyatro and Tiyatro Oyunbaz before moving to Istanbul in 2009, where he worked with Duru Tiyatro, Tiyatro Dan and Levent Kırca Tiyatrosu, also serving as both host and cast member on Levent Kırca's Olacak O Kadar program. His performance in the play Selamün Kavlen Karakolu earned him the Best Supporting Actor prize at the 2012-2013 Direklerarası Audience Awards, and he joined the roster of Ankara Sanat Tiyatrosu that same season.

He made his film debut in Oğulcan Kırca's Son İstasyon (2010), followed by Olur Olur! (2014) and Dedemin Fişi (2016), and became widely known from 2013 for playing Mustafa in BKM's sketch show Güldür Güldür Show. He has also appeared on the DasDas stage in Joseph K, Timsah and Deli Bayramı. In 2019 he stood trial on charges of resisting police and insulting officers, telling the court he apologized to the police force; he married Dilan Saltık in 2022.
